It was another busy week for the Fever overseas. In Turkey, all clubs played two games this week, including a couple contests that pitted Fever teammates against one another.

The Fever’s pick-and-roll combination of Briann January and Erlana Larkins had a strong week, leading Adana ASKI to a pair of wins.

Adana defeated Hatay on April 1, 65-59. January had 20 points on 8-of-15 shooting, connecting on 3-of-4 attempts from 3-point range. Larkins dominated the boards, scoring 18 points and collecting 16 rebounds. Their Fever teammate Lynetta Kizer had 23 points and eight rebounds for Hatay in the loss.

Then on April 4, January and Larkins led Adana to another big win, defeating Mersin, 74-71. January led all scorers with 27 points, going 5-for-11 from 3-point range. Larkins posted another double-double in the victory, finishing with 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Since they both had such strong weeks, it was tough to choose between January and Larkins for #FeverOverseas Player of Week honors, but we decided to give the nod to January by the slimmest of margins.

After falling to Adana, Kizer and her Hatay teammates bounced back three days later with an 80-69 win over Ormanspor. Kizer had a strong game, finishing with 22 points and 13 rebounds.

Elsewhere in Turkey, Marissa Coleman and Edirne split a pair of games. They defeated Osmaniye, 74-63, on April 1 as Coleman scored 20 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Edirne fell to Shavonte Zellous and Fenerbahce three days later despite Coleman’s 14 points and eight rebounds. Zellous had 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting and six boards in the victory.

Zellous and Fenerbahce went 2-0 on the week, as they also rolled past Mersin on April 1 in a 29-point blowout. Zellous had six points and five rebounds in limited minutes in the victory.

Several Fever players rank among the league leaders in Turkey. Kizer is second in scoring in the the TKBL (19.0 points per game), while January is sixth (17.6 points per contest) and Coleman is tied for ninth 16.7 points per game. Larkins continues to lead the league in rebounding, averaging 13.9 boards per night. January is tied for seventh in assists, dishing out 4.2 per game, while Coleman is tied for eighth in steals with 1.7 per contest.

In France, Maggie Lucas’ Arras club dropped a pair of contests. Lucas scored 17 points in an 87-75 loss to Angers on April 4, then had 16 points and six rebounds in a 78-65 loss to Tarbes on April 7. Lucas remains the second-leading scorer in Ligue Féminine de Basketball, averaging 18.1 points per game.
