Storylines & Promotion
- Indiana (6-6) is looking for its third win in three home games versus San Antonio this Friday at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Previously, the Fever defeated Washington (7/2) and Seattle (7/8).
- The Fever have won five of their past seven contests, and own victories in three consecutive games.
- Indiana improved its regular season record to .500 for the first time since the Fever were 10-10 after July 10, 2014.
- During Indiana’s current three-game winning streak, the Fever have averaged 84.3 points per game and shot 51.6 percent from the field while outscoring opponents by an average of 18.0 points per game.
- Indiana forced a season-high 23 turnovers against Seattle, posting their highest scoring total at home this season and tied their largest margin of victory.
- For the third time this season, Indiana scored over 50 points in one half, a feat that was accomplished just three times all last season. Fifty-three Fever first half points are a season high.
- Indiana made a season-high 36 field goals in today’s game and shot at least 50 percent from the field for the third consecutive game. The Fever are now 4-0 this season when shooting 50 percent or better from the field.
- Lynetta Kizer led the Fever with 17 points, her highest scoring total in her two-year career with Indiana. She shot a season-best 7-for-10 from the field and a tied a season high with six rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. She ranks seventh in the league in field-goal percentage (53.1 percent).
- Including Wednesday’s game, Marissa Coleman has scored in double figures eight times in 12 games. Against the Storm, she scored 15 points and tied her season-high with seven field goals on 15 attempts.
- Indiana’s bench contributed its highest scoring total of the season as they piled up 38 points against the Storm. The Fever tied a season high with 13 offensive rebounds and also tallied their highest points in the paint total this season as they outscored Seattle, 44-20.
- Shenise Johnson faces her former team Friday in the matchup with the Stars. She played with San Antonio from when she was drafted in 2012 through 2014, where she averaged 7.6 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game. This season, Johnson is averaging 10.3 points per game and has eight starts in the team’s 12 games.
- Johnson replaced injured Shavonte Zellous in the starting lineup June 16 and has remained there since, helping the team to a 5-2 record following the June 14 game versus Chicago.
- Tamika Catchings was chosen the WNBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week as announced Monday, which is her 22nd such award, the most in WNBA history. She needs six more rebounds to surpass Taj McWilliams-Franklin for third on the league’s all-time rebounding list and is 47 points shy of second place on the all-time scoring list.
- Natalie Achonwa has been chosen as the WNBA Rookie of the Month for June. She leads all first year players with 9.8 points per game. She is second in field goal percentage (52.9 percent) among all rookies and eighth overall in the league. Achonwa’s 4.5 rebounds per game are third among the rookie class. Her rookie of the month award is the first by any Fever player.

Kayla McBride hit a 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left to give the San Antonio Stars a 71-70 win over the Indiana Fever last July. Indiana led by 13 with more than 5 minutes left before the Stars rallied. The Fever trailed 68-67 with 6.8 seconds left when Briann January hit a 3-pointer to give them the lead. McBride answered from the wing for the winner. The rookie finished with 14 points. Tamika Catchings finished with six points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks in her season debut. She had one last chance for the Fever, but she was double-teamed after taking the inbounds pass and never got off a shot. Shavonte Zellous led Indiana with 16 points.

Fever: (July 8, 2015) Lynetta Kizer scored a season-high 17 points and Indiana rolled over the Seattle Storm 88-65 on Wednesday for the Fever’s third straight win. Marissa Coleman reached double figures for a team-best eighth time this season with 15 points, and Tamika Catchings added 12 for the Fever, who shot 50 percent. Jewell Loyd scored 15 points and Abby Bishop added 12 for the Storm. The Fever scored 24 points off 23 Seattle turnovers and dominated in rebounds 44-20. Seattle’s Crystal Langhorne and Sue Bird, combined for just 14 points as the Storm finished three points under their league-low scoring average.
Stars: (July 8, 2015) Danielle Robinson had 22 points and eight assists to help the San Antonio Stars beat Los Angeles 70-63 on Wednesday night. Los Angeles was held to just six points in the third quarter. They were 2-of-19 from the field, going without a field goal for 7-plus minutes. San Antonio closed on a 13-1 run to take a 52-44 lead. Sophia Young-Malcolm and Danielle Adams added 11 points apiece for San Antonio. Samantha Logic, the No. 10 pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft, made her debut with the Stars after being traded from Atlanta. Jantel Lavender had 19 points and 10 rebounds for Los Angeles.
