Game Recap: McCowan Finishes with Double-Double as Fever Fall to Aces

INDIANAPOLIS – Teaira McCowan came up three assists shy of becoming the first Fever player to ever record a triple-double in Saturday’s 87-71 loss to the Las Vegas Aces at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. McCowan recorded her 25th double-double of her career and her ninth this season with 12 points and 13 rebounds. The seven assists also set a new career-high for the third-year center.

Kelsey Mitchell and Tiffany Mitchell each scored a team-high 15 points while each made six field goal attempts. Emma Cannon started the second consecutive game of her career, while Danielle Robinson left the game in the first quarter with a right ankle injury. She did not return in Saturday’s game.

Lindsay Allen came off the bench and led the Fever reserves with 11 points. It was the second time in her career scoring double figures in consecutive games.

Jantel Lavender added 10 points off the bench after missing the last four games due to injury.

With Saturday’s victory, Las Vegas has now won four of its last five games.

All five Las Vegas starters scored in double figures, led by 15 points from Riquna Williams. Chelsea Gray poured in three 3-point field goals, ended with 13 points and a team-high six assists. Liz Cambage added 12 points and nine rebounds while A’ja Wilson pitched in 11 points. Princeton, Indiana native and Notre Dame alumna Jackie Young added 13 points and four assists
