Storylines & Promotion

• After being swept on their weekend road trip at Minnesota and Atlanta, the Indiana Fever (2-3) return home Wednesday night as they host the Seattle Storm (2-3) for the first time this season.

• Wednesday’s matchup pits two of the WNBA’s premier rookies against each other as Seattle’s Breanna Stewart and Indiana’s Tiffany Mitchell square off on the court. Stewart, the four-time NCAA National Champion from Connecticut, currently leads all rookies with averages of 17.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game for the Storm.

• Mitchell ranks second among all first-year players in scoring and field goal percentage and leads all rookies in steals with 2.2 thefts per game. The South Carolina product has scored in double figures in every game this season while averaging a team-high 14.0 points per game on 43.1 percent shooting over the first five contests.

• Tamika Catchings became only the second player in WNBA history to reach 7,000 career points as she finished with 16 points in Sunday’s game at Atlanta. Catchings needs 484 points this season to pass Tina Thompson (7,488) as the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer.

• Fever point guard Erica Wheeler set new career highs in Sunday’s loss at Atlanta with 18 points and seven assists in 35 minutes of action. She has now scored in double figures in four of Indiana’s five games, already passing her season total during her rookie season in 2015.
