Storylines & Promotion

  • The Indiana Fever (2-1) will hit the road for the first time this season as they travel to Minnesota for the first meeting with the Lynx since Game 5 of the WNBA Finals last season.
  • The Fever wrapped up their three-game home stand to open the season as they outlasted the Atlanta Dream, 94-85, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse Friday night.
  • Minnesota is one of two undefeated teams left in the WNBA after the Lynx improved their record to 4-0 after an 85-78 victory at Phoenix Wednesday night.
  • Over the first 16 years of Indiana Fever basketball, the Fever had never had more than six players score 10 or more points in a single game. In each of the past two games, both resulting in victories, Indiana has placed seven players in double figures to set a new franchise record.
  • Six Fever players are currently averaging 10 or more points this season.
  • Indiana had four players score in double figures off the bench in last Friday’s victory over the Dream as the Fever bench outscored their counterparts from Atlanta, 54-29.
  • Tamika Catchings needs 20 points to become only the second player in WNBA history to score 7,000 points in her WNBA career.
  • With her next appearance, Catchings will also pass former teammate Tully Bevilaqua (426 games) into ninth place for the most games played in WNBA history.
  • After scoring only two points on 1-for-4 shooting against Dallas in the season opener, Devereaux Peters has scored in double figures off the bench in each of the last two games.   After playing four seasons for the Lynx from 2012-15, Peters will play in her first game against her former squad since being traded to Indiana during the offseason.
  • Rookie guard Tiffany Mitchell has scored in double figures in all three games this season and leads the Fever with an average of 13.3 points per game. She currently ranks second among all WNBA rookies in scoring behind Seattle forward Briana Stewart, and leads all rookies in field goal percentage, shooting 50.0 percent from the field.
  • After sitting out the season opener against Dallas, Marissa Coleman has scored in double figures in both of her appearances, averaging 11.5 points per game while helping lead the Fever to victories in both games.

Series

The Lynx swept the two regular season meetings with the Fever in 2015, including a 16-point victory at the Target Center on Sept. 4, 2015. The Fever have lost nine consecutive regular season games to the Lynx and have dropped nine regular season road games in a row at Minnesota. However, Indiana was able to steal a Game 1 victory in the WNBA Finals at the Target Center on October 4. The Fever eventually fell one game short of the franchise’s second WNBA championship as they fell to the Lynx in the decisive Game 5 at Minnesota.
