Game Preview: Fever Travel to D.C. to Face the Mystics
After a three-game homestand to open up play at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, the Indiana Fever head out east for a Commissioner’s Cup road test against the Washington Mystics today at 7 p.m. ET. Washington has won the last five meetings between the two teams played as the road team.
Indiana and Washington split a pair of games earlier this season played at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. In the 89-77 win for Indiana, Jessica Breland and Teaira McCowan led the way with 17 points and 10 rebounds each, while Kelsey Mitchell had a team-high 18 points to get the first win for the Fever this season. The WNBA’s leading scorer, Tina Charles, averaged 30.5 points per game in the two contests against Indiana this season.
On Thursday, the Mystics defeated the Dream. 96-93 with just seven players available, as Charles attended the premiere of her movie at the Tribeca Film Festival. Mystics guard Ariel Atkins finished the game with a career-high 32 points, while Theresa Plaisance finished with a career-high 25 points.
Saturday will also be the first time Fever head coach Marianne Stanley returns to D.C. since winning a WNBA title with the Mystics in 2019. Stanley served as an assistant coach under Mike Thibault from 2010-19, and also was Mystics head coach from 2002-03.

Natasha Cloud totaled 10 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds. It is the only time a player posted a 10/10/9 game in Mystics history.
