- After dropping two road contests last weekend at Minnesota and Atlanta, the Fever rebounded for an 85-75 home victory over the Seattle Storm Wednesday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Indiana takes off on another two-game weekend road trip starting Friday night at New York at 7:30 p.m.
- The Indiana Fever (3-3) and New York Liberty (2-3) will meet Friday night for the first time since the 2015 Eastern Conference Finals. Indiana earned its third-ever trip to the WNBA Finals as the Fever won the final two games of the series, including a 66-51 road victory at Madison Square Garden in the decisive Game 3.

- After beginning the season 2-0, New York has lost its last three games, including a 69-79 home decision to the defending-champion Minnesota Lynx in the Liberty’s last game Tuesday night.
- The Liberty are led by All-Star forward Tina Charles, who currently leads all players in the WNBA this season in scoring and rebounding with averages of 23.4 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.
- Lynetta Kizer led the Fever in Wednesday’s win over the Storm as she set a new career high with 20 points on 8-for-13 shooting in 22 minutes off the bench. She had only scored 20 points all season heading into Wednesday night.
- Tiffany Mitchell posted her best scoring output to date in Wednesday’s victory as she finished with 19 points while shooting 5-for-13 from the field and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line. She has scored in double figures in every game this season and leads the Fever in scoring with an average of 14.8 points per game. Mitchell ranks second among all first-year players in scoring and field goal percentage and leads all rookies in steals with 2.2 thefts per game.
- Fever point guard Briann January made her season debut Wednesday night after missing the first five games this season while rehabilitating her right knee after offseason surgery. She finished with four points, three assists and one steal in 16 minutes off the bench.
- Indiana yielded only one offensive rebound while holding the Storm to zero second-chance points in Wednesday’s win. The one offensive rebound ties the franchise record for the fewest offensive rebounds allowed in a game.
Series
The Fever won four of the five regular season matchups over New York during the 2015 season. After dropping the first game last season against the Liberty on the road, the Fever won the final four regular season matchups, including an 80-63 road win at Madison Square Garden on June 19. The Fever hold a 39-22 all-time regular season record over New York in the history of the series.
