Last Meeting

The Fever fell to the 2013 WNBA champions last August at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a heartbreaking contest. Seimone Augustus tipped in a missed shot by Lindsay Whalen in the final second of the game to beat Indiana 66-64. Augustus paced the Lynx with a game-high 18 points and Maya Moore finished with 15 points and 12 boards. Indiana produced a strong first half, building a 15-point lead in the second quarter. Karima Christmas, who had 12 of her team-leading 15 points in the first half, played a big part. The Fever led by a 44-38 margin at the half. Defense from both teams highlighted the second half, especially in the fourth quarter. Each team scored just six points through the first 8.5 minutes of the quarter. Center Erlana Larkins totaled 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Tamika Catchings added 12 points and six rebounds of her own.

Last Games

Fever: Indiana might need a few more games to shore up on both sides of the ball as they fell 95-72 to the Sky in their season-opener. Despite a snappy start to the game that featured Marissa Coleman (18 points) scoring the Fever’s first eight points, Indiana was unable to overcome the play of Elena Delle Donne who poured in 31 points while snaring eight rebounds. With a new offensive system in place for Indiana, it was clear there were times in which the team just wasn’t on the same page as they turned it over 20 times throughout the game while shooting just 39 percent.

Lynx: The Minnesota Lynx were back to open their 2015 season against the Tulsa Shock and they opened it with a win, beating the Shock by a score of 83-75. Lindsey Whalen scored 18 of her 26 points in the second half, including multiple “And-1” opportunities, leading her team to a huge come-from-behind victory over a quick Tulsa team.

Series

The Lynx hold a 16-12 lead in the regular season series between the teams, including an 8-6 edge at both Bankers Life Fieldhouse and the Target Center. Minnesota has swept the regular season series’ dating back to 2012, putting them at 6-0 against Indiana in the last three regular seasons. Just three years ago, the Fever shocked the Lynx with a 3-1 series win in the WNBA Finals to claim the club’s first WNBA Championship.
