More than 1,500 students from across Indianapolis traveled to Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday morning to attend the Indiana Fever’s Choices for Champions event presented by Community Health Network. The annual event encourages 4th to 8th grade students to make positive and healthy life choices, with an emphasis on putting an end to bullying.

The absence of both its centers, and first quarter stitches to starting guard Shenise Johnson, were the backdrop in a 75-63 Indiana blowout at USAirways Center. Lynetta Kizer scored a career-high 19 points in her fourth start of the season, replacing Erlana Larkins who remained in Indianapolis with an injured left leg that required further evaluation from Fever medical personnel.

The Fever (12-9) begin a four-game road swing this Tuesday beginning with the second-place team in the East, the Washington Mystics (13-8). With the top five teams in the East separated by just three games, Indiana can force the Mystics into a third-place tie with a road win Tuesday.

The Fever (11-9) return home Friday night before embarking on four straight road games as they host Atlanta (7-13) for the first time this season on Breast Health Awareness Night presented by Community Health Network.

Indiana (11-8) travels to Chicago for the final matchup of the regular season this Tuesday against the Sky (12-8). Chicago has won seven of its last 10 games and the Fever are seeking a fourth straight win. The top four teams in the Eastern Conference are separated by just two games. Chicago is currently in third place followed by Indiana in fourth.

Shenise Johnson scored all 16 of her points in the second half, Erlana Larkins added 10 points and 13 rebounds and the Indiana Fever rallied to beat the Connecticut Sun for the second time in six days, 83-70 on Sunday.
