Game Preview: Fever Look to Bounce Back in Dallas

The final game of a three-game road swing concludes the regular season series between the Indiana Fever against the Dallas Wings on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. Friday’s game will be streamed on FeverBasketball.com and the Indiana Fever’s Facebook page in Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Fans can also tune in on CBS Sports Network.

Dallas has won the last three meetings after Indiana claimed the previous four matchups. The Wings took the first one this season, 89-64, back on June 24 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Dallas is the only team during the condensed 2021 regular season Indiana plays only twice.

Last time out for the Fever against Phoenix on Tuesday, Mitchell led Indiana again with her 29th career 20-point scoring game on 8-of-20 shooting in the 84-80 loss. It was her eighth time this season reaching at least 20 points scored. She also grabbed a career-high three offensive rebounds to help out the thin Fever bench. Victoria Vivians came off the bench and tied a career-high five made 3-point field goals on 5-of-9 from beyond the arc. As a team, the Fever made a season-high 10 3-point field goals. Vivians finished with 16 points, six rebounds and tied a season-high three assists. Danielle Robinson added 10 of her 14 points in the second half to go along with a season-high eight rebounds, while Tiffany Mitchell finished in double figures for the 13th time in the last 14 games with 11 points. Robinson attacked the glass more on Tuesday night, resulting in six free throws made, which tied a career high.

Dallas snapped a four-game slide on Tuesday in an 80-76 win against the Chicago Sky. Allisha Gray had 20 points and Arike Ogunbowale scored 10 of her 15 points in the second half. Ogunbowale currently owns a 60-game scoring streak finishing with at least 10 points. It is the fifth longest streak in WNBA history. The Wings also enter Friday tied for a WNBA record for most games with at least five made 3-point field goals at 41 consecutive games.

Isabelle Harrison had 15 points and six rebounds and Moriah Jefferson had 11 points, five rebounds and eight assists for Dallas. Sabally missed her second straight game on Tuesday for Dallas with an injury.

Second-year guard and Noblesville native, Tyasha Harris, has appeared in 23 games so far for Dallas this season.

Last Meeting
June 24, 2021: In the first meeting of the season, Kelsey Mitchell scored all of her 24 points in the second half, including 16 points in the third quarter, which tied her career-high for most points scored in a quarter. For Dallas, second-year forward Satou Sabally led the Wings with 15 points and nine rebounds as she was one of six Dallas players to end the night in double figures.
