Storylines & Promotion
• The Indiana Fever wrap up a two-game Western road swing Tuesday night as they visit San Antonio for the final matchup with the Stars this season at 8:00 p.m.

• Tuesday night’s game will not be televised locally in Indianapolis.  However, fans can watch the action on WNBA League Pass, or follow along on Stat Tracker on FeverBasketball.com or on social media @IndianaFever.

• In a tough road matchup with the WNBA-leading Los Angeles Sparks Sunday night, the Fever overcame a slow start to enter the locker room with only a five-point deficit, 41-46, at halftime. But Los Angeles turned it on in the third quarter, shooting 81 percent from the field while limiting the Fever to 13 points as the Sparks built their lead to as many as 20 points in the fourth and were able to cruise to an 88-81 win.

• The loss drops Indiana to 13-15 overall this season and sixth place in the crowded WNBA playoff race. With six games left to play, the Fever are currently a half-game ahead of Phoenix in seventh place and a game and a half ahead of Seattle in eighth.  Indiana is only a game behind Atlanta in fifth and two behind Chicago in fourth place.

• A fifth or sixth seed in the playoffs would ensure a home game in the WNBA’s new one-game, elimination format in the first round of the postseason.  A fourth-place finish would give Indiana a first-round bye.

• Fever guard Erica Wheeler recorded the highest scoring total of her WNBA career Sunday at Los Angeles, finishing with 20 points on 9-for-17 shooting from the field.  Wheeler had only scored in double figures once over her previous nine games.

• Two key players in Indiana’s run to the WNBA Finals last season, Marissa Coleman and Shenise Johnson, have been heating up on the offensive end of the floor.  Johnson set a new career high as she finished with 21 points in Thursday’s win over New York, and followed that with a 19-point outing Sunday in Los Angeles.  She has scored in double figures in six of the last seven games and is averaging 12.3 points per game over that span. Johnson has made her last 21 free throw attempts, and is now shooting 91.1 percent from the foul line this season.

• Coleman has scored in double figures in four of the last five games, averaging 11.6 points per game over that span.  She is shooting 46.3 percent from the field (19-41) over the last five contests after shooting 29 percent from the field over the first 21 games this season.

• The Fever and Stars have split two regular season meetings this season.  The Fever stole a 84-75 road victory at San Antonio on June 17 before the Stars escaped Bankers Life Fieldhouse with an 87-85 overtime victory in which rookie guard Moriah Jefferson tipped in a missed layup at the buzzer on July 1.

• San Antonio has struggled since its win at Indiana on July 1.  The Stars have lost 10 of their last 12 since their victory in Indianapolis.  The Stars have been bitten by the injury bug late in the season, missing star guard Kayla McBride along with forwards Alex Montgomery, Kayla Alexander and Dearica Hamby.  Jefferson, the rookie guard out of Connecticut, has been a bright spot in San Antonio all season.  She is averaging 12.5 points per game while leading all rookies this season with 4.1 assists per game.

Last Meeting
(July 1, 2016) INDIANAPOLIS – The Fever led by 10 points with 2:34 remaining in the fourth quarter and appeared to have the game locked up as Briann January sank a free throw to make the score 76-70 with 33 seconds to play. But rookie guard Moriah Jefferson immediately converted a three-point play, forced a stop on a January drive to the basket and tied the game on a three-pointer with 1.6 seconds remaining to give the Stars new life in an overtime period. Tamika Catchings tied the game in the extra frame on a drive to the hoop with 3.3 seconds remaining; but after the ensuing timeout, Jefferson sprinted to the hoop to tip in Kayla McBride’s missed jumper at the buzzer to lift San Antonio to a stunning 87-85 victory. Jefferson led all scorers with 31 points. Erlana Larkins led Indiana with 16 points and a season-high 17 rebounds.

Series
Meeting three times in one season for the first time in the history of the series, the Stars and Fever have split two regular season matchups in 2016. Including a victory at the AT&T Center on June 17, Indiana has won five of its last six regular season road games at San Antonio. The Fever lead the all-time series 17-15 with a 9-4 record at San Antonio.
