The Indiana Fever travel to Chicago for the second time this season on Sunday. Indiana ended its four-game homestand with a 95-88 overtime loss to the Washington Mystics Friday night. Chicago is coming off a 77-76 victory over the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday and is 10-8 on the season.

Erica Wheeler finished with a team-high 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists for the Fever. Natalie Achonwa (16 points, 12 rebounds) posted a double-double. The Sky got a team-high 22 points from Diamond DeShields and 10 points apiece from Allie Quigley and Kahleah Cooper. Indiana and Chicago have spilt their first two meetings of the season. The Sky won 70-64 in Indianapolis on June 15 and the Fever got a 76-69 road victory on June 21.

NOTES

  • Indiana leads the all-time series between the teams 36-17. The Fever would take two of three games against the Sky for the third time in four years with a victory.
  • The road team has won eight straight games in this series. Indiana recorded the last home victory on Sept. 9, 2016.
  • Erica Wheeler posted a season-high 28 points in the Fever’s victory on June 21. She’s recorded eight assists in both games against Chicago this season.
  • Wheeler (18 points) led Indiana in scoring for the fifth time on Friday. Wheeler’s seven rebounds tied her career high.
  • With five more assists, Wheeler (505) will pass Castro Marques (509) for the third-most career assists by an undrafted player in WNBA history. Becky Hammon (1, 708) and Tully Bevilaqua (854) rank first and second, respectively.
  • Natalie Achonwa’s double-double (16 points, 12 rebounds) was her third of the season. Achonwa is the first Fever player to have at least three double-doubles in consecutive seasons since Erlana Larkins in 2013 and 2014.
  • Achonwa scored in double figures for the fourth time in her last five games. She finished 5-of-9 from the field and a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line.
  • Shenise Johnson set new season highs in points (13) and assists (five). Johnson’s 13 points were her highest total since July 7, 2017 (15 points).
  • Tiffany Mitchell recorded the 100th steal of her WNBA career. Mitchell (14 points) also scored at least 10 points for the ninth time this season.
  • Indiana’s 43 rebounds were the team’s season high. The Fever got 23 second-chance points from 12 offensive rebounds.
  • Nine of the Fever’s 13 losses were two-possession games in the final minute of regulation. Indiana has gone to overtime with two of the top three teams in the WNBA standings (Las Vegas and Washington).
  • The Fever would surpass their win total from the 2018 season with a victory over the Sky.
