The Indiana Fever continue a three-game road swing with a third matchup with the Washington Mystics on Saturday night. The only team Indiana will play four times, the Mystics visit Bankers Life Fieldhouse in a final meeting on Sunday, Aug. 20.

In Indiana’s last game, Erica Wheeler scored a career-high 33 points on 12-of-18 shooting. The third-year pro was a sniper from behind the 3-point arc, converting a career-best 7-of-11 attempts from deep. The big night eclipsed her previous career-high of 24 points, set June 7 against the Phoenix Mercury, and was her fourth game of at least 20 points this season.

Injury Update
Guards Briann January (right knee) and Tiffany Mitchell (right knee) will not play in tonight’s game against the Washington Mystics. Both injuries are day-to-day.

Storylines & Promotion
• The Fever came up short against the New York Liberty, 81-76, Tuesday night. Wheeler’s 33 points led the way for the Fever, who led much of the fourth quarter and climbed within three points with just 14 seconds to go. Candice Dupree, fresh off a 31-point performance of her own, scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds.

• Wheeler’s seven 3-pointers tied a Fever record set by Katie Douglas in 2012. Her 33 points were the most since Shavonte Zellous, now with the Liberty, scored 33 for the Fever in 2014. It was one point shy of tying Douglas for the club record, with Douglas scoring 34 against Washington in 2009.

• Dupree has scored in double figures five straight games. In fact, Dupree has failed to reach double figures just four times in the Fever’s 27 games. Back-to-back 30-point scoring efforts by Wheeler and Dupree marked the Fever’s first occurrence of players with consecutive 30-poing games since Douglas scored 34 and 32 in back-to-back games in July 2009.

• Jazmon Gwathmey has been playing some of her best ball in the past few games. She scored eight points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench at New York. She’s averaging 10 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest off the pine in the past four games.

• Jennifer Hamson has been a strong defensive force in the interior since joining the Fever in July. She recorded two blocks against New York, her third such game out of eight played this season.

• The Mystics defeated the Phoenix Mercury 85-80, Sunday night. Kristi Toliver scored 20 points to lead four Mystics in double figure scoring. Krystal Thomas grabbed 16 rebounds for the Mystics.

• The Fever are the best free throw shooting team in the WNBA, with a mark of 85.7 percent. The team is on pace to set a new franchise record for the second straight year, besting the team’s 84.5 percent performance from last season. Tiffany Mitchell is fourth individually with a 92.2 percent conversion rate and another streak of 24-in-a-row.

• The Mystics are second in the league in free throw shooting at 84.7 percent, and possess the three best free throw shooters in the league. Elena Delle Donne and Tianna Hawkins shoot 94.9 percent at the stripe, and injured guard Tayler Hill makes 93.8 percent of her attempts.

• When Briann January dishes at least six assists this season, the Fever are 6-3. January’s four assists per game ranks 12th in the WNBA.

• Marissa Coleman began her career with the Mystics in 2009, playing three seasons for the club after being selected second in the 2009 WNBA Draft. A lifelong resident of the D.C. area, she prepped at St. John’s High School and attended the University of Maryland. Washington’s Krystal Thomas played for Indiana during the 2014 season, appearing in 21 games and making three starts.

• While Indiana will play the rest of its season without Shenise Johnson, the Mystics also are banged up at the moment. Natasha Cloud has an injured foot and is questionable against the Fever. Delle Donne has missed the past two games with a thumb injury, and Hill is out for the season after injuring her knee against Indiana on July 14.

• The Fever are 40-26 against the Mystics all-time, with a 20-14 record at the Verizon Center. Washington won the previous two matchups this season.
