Storylines & Promotion

• The Indiana Fever (2-2) wrap up their two-game weekend road trip as they visit the first-place Atlanta Dream for their only visit to Philips Arena this season Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

• In a rematch of last season’s WNBA Finals, Indiana mounted a second-half comeback attempt as the Fever trailed by as many as 24 points in the first half, but fell short as Minnesota hung on for a 77-74 victory Friday night.

• Atlanta improved its record to 4-1 on the young season as the Dream earned a 102-93 road victory at Dallas Friday night. Currently in first place in the Eastern Conference standings, Atlanta’s only loss this season came at Indiana last Friday, May 20, as the Fever earned a 94-85 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

• Indiana had four players score in double figures off the bench in last Friday’s victory over the Dream as the Fever bench outscored their counterparts from Atlanta, 54-29.

• Tamika Catchings needs 11 points to become only the second player in WNBA history to score 7,000 points in her WNBA career.

• Starting in the game at Minnesota Friday night, Catchings passed former teammate Tully Bevilaqua (426 games) into ninth place for the most games played in WNBA history.

• Rookie guard Tiffany Mitchell has scored in double figures in all four games this season and leads the Fever with an average of 14.0 points per game.

• She currently ranks second among all WNBA rookies in scoring behind Seattle forward Briana Stewart, and leads all rookies in field goal percentage, shooting 50.0 percent from the field.

(May 20, 2016) INDIANAPOLIS – The Fever placed seven players in double figures for the second consecutive game – tying the franchise record – as Indiana earned a 94-85 home victory over the Atlanta Dream. Indiana controlled most of the first half with its balanced scoring attack and opportunistic defense. The Fever collected 14 steals in the first half, setting a new franchise record while falling one theft shy of the league record for steals in a half. After Atlanta climbed back within five points with just over two minutes left in the first half, the Fever sped ahead on a 12-2 run to end the half with a 52-37 halftime advantage. Tamika Catchings led the Fever with 14 points. Four Fever players finished in double figures off the bench, led by Tiffany Mitchell and Devereaux Peters with 12 apiece, as Indiana’s bench outscored the Dream’s, 52-29.

Series
Indiana took three of the four regular season matchups over Atlanta last season, including both meetings on the road. On August 7, 2015, the Fever piled up their second-highest scoring total in franchise in a 106-77 victory at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Indiana leads the all-time series, 18-17, but the Dream hold a 9-7 advantage in games played at Atlanta.
