Indiana Fever center and Ormanspor star Teaira McCowan has been named the MVP of the Week for her round 4 play in the Turkish KBSL.

The third-year center had the most dominant season of her career in 2021. McCowan averaged 11.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 26.5 minutes per game, which were all career-bests.

It was a tough loss for the Indiana Fever on Friday evening as they fell to the Atlanta Dream, 83-79, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. However, one of the bright spots of the game was center Teaira McCowan, who recorded her 500th career rebound, making her the fastest in franchise history and tying her for eighth fastest in WNBA history.

McCowan’s 305 rebounds broke the franchise record for rebounding in a season, and was the sixth-highest figure ever by a WNBA rookie. She was selected to the WNBA All-Rookie Team after a dominant second half of the season that featured a double-double average (11.8 points, 10.3 rebounds) since her first start on June 19. She finished the season with overall averages of 10.0 points and 9.0 rebounds.
