I cannot stress how important and exciting this is for the United States. Every day, all around the world, Special Olympics athletes train and strive to achieve their very best. At the World Games, the world comes together to see our athletes in action and celebrate their victories over huge odds. The Special Olympics World Games embrace unity, achievement and dignity. A World Games has not taken place in this country since the late 90’s. My hope is that our entire country can stand together and support Special Olympics because it truly touches and transforms the lives of so many.

One of the most wonderful elements to the World Games is that five of our very own Hoosiers are part of Special Olympics USA –which is an honor and privilege as they represent America and compete among 7,000 of the world’s best athletes!

Please tune-in for this incredible telecast! I promise that you’lll be happy you did. An experience like this certainly does not come around often, so I urge you to also share this with your friends and families. Let’s all ‘Reach Up L.A!’

Watch the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Special Olympics World Games LIVE this Saturday, July 25 at 9pm on ESPN and then see coverage every day during the World Games. Be sure to look for the athletes from Indiana during the Opening Ceremony parade of athletes!
