Game Recap: Storm Pull Away Late Against Fever
EVERETT, WASH. – The Indiana Fever dropped Tuesday night’s matchup, 88-73, against the Seattle Storm. After a Victoria Vivians jumpshot rattled in, Seattle led 64-57 with 7:50 remaining in the game, but the Storm would go on a 15-6 run to eventually pull away from Indiana.
Jessica Breland and Teaira McCowan each tallied 12 points to lead the Fever in the scoring column. Breland came off the bench and shot 6-of-9 from the floor, while McCowan pulled down 15 rebounds for her 20th career double-double.
Danielle Robinson also finished with 11 points for her fifth game scoring in double figures this season. Lindsay Allen came off the bench to deliver a season-high six assists.
Former WNBA MVP, Breanna Stewart, poured in a game-high 28 points to go along with six rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Even after the Fever held Jewell Loyd scoreless in the second quarter, Loyd ended the game with 18 points on 4-of-7 shooting from outside.
Tuesday was also the first game for new Storm head coach, Noelle Quinn, after former head coach Dan Hughes announced his retirement on Sunday.
