BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Fever guard Bria Hartley was activated by Indiana on May 20, but missed the last five games with a left hamstring injury after returning from overseas commitments. Hartley finished her Indiana Fever debut with 10 points in just more than 15 minutes off the bench as Indiana dropped a back-to-back matchup with the New York Liberty, 87-74, at Barclays Center on Wednesday night. The win snapped a seven-game losing streak for New York to improve to 2-7, while Indiana fell to 3-9 after completing one third of the 2022 regular season.

Eastern Conference Player of the Week Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever in scoring for the ninth time this season with 17 points to go along with four assists. Victoria Vivians scored all 14 of her points in the first half, which is the eighth time in her last nine games scoring in double figures. Queen Egbo ended the game with 10 points, six rebounds and the seventh game this season with multiple blocked shots in a game.

Indiana finished the game shooting 15-of-15 from the free throw line, but it would not be enough as Indiana stalled in the second half for the second time in as many days. New York outscored Indiana 47-27 in the second half and held the Fever to 1-of-16 shooting in the fourth quarter.

Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu led all scorers with 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting and seven rebounds. Center Stefanie Dolson helped New York earn its second win of the season with 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Rebecca Allen and Natasha Howard each added 17 and 16 points as well as the New York starters combined for 76 of the team’s 87 points.
