The Fever travel to Dallas for the first of two consecutive games against the Dallas Wings, playing in Indiana on Saturday.
Both teams will be looking to rebound from blowout losses. The Fever lost to the Seattle Storm by 24 on Sunday night, while the Phoenix Mercury handed the Wings a 42-point loss on Saturday. The Fever have now faced double-digit deficits in every game this season, erasing three of those deficits, earning wins in two of them.
Storylines & Promotion
• The Fever lost their second game in Seattle this season, falling to the Storm 94-70 Sunday night. Tiffany Mitchell led the team in scoring off the bench with 13 points, and Natalie Achonwa added 10 with a perfect shooting performance, going 3-for-3 from the field and 4-for-4 from the line. Candice Dupree scored 11 as the only Fever starter in double figures, as the bench outscored the starters (41-29).
•The Wings lost 107-65 to Phoenix last Saturday in Phoenix. Glory Johnson led the Wings with 12 points, and Karima Christmas-Kelly scored 11 as the only other player in double-figures. The team shot 21-of-65 (32.3 percent) from the field and 4-of-21 (19 percent) from 3-point range in the loss.
• Erlana Larkins set a career-high in scoring last season at Dallas with 19 points. Mitchell also set career-highs in free throw attempts and makes against the Wings in the same game, going 8-for-8 at the line.
• Johnson gives the Wings a strong presence inside, as she is the fourth-leading rebounder in the WNBA, with nine rebounds per game. Skylar Diggins-Smith is sixth in assists with 5.5 per game.
• The Fever are the third-best shooting team in the WNBA, making 44.1 percent of their shots from the field. The Fever are also fourth in 3-point percentage (36.6) and third in free throw percentage (87.4).
• Larkins has 1,106 points in her Fever career, and is just eight shy of passing Tully Bevilaqua (1,113) in 8th place in team history. With 1,081 career rebounds with the Fever, she’s also just 35 rebounds shy of passing Ebony Hoffman (1,115) for second in team history.
• Marissa Coleman needs 44 points to reach 1,000 in her Fever career and 96 for 2,000 in her WNBA career.
• On the WNBA career rebounding list, Dupree is 11th with 2,406 rebounds. She is 39 shy of passing former Fever player Yolanda Griffith (2,444) in 10th, and 42 from passing Lauren Jackson (2,447) in 9th.
• Dallas rookies Allisha Gray and Kaela Davis were college teammates with Tiffany Mitchell at South Carolina.
• The Fever owns the series advantage over the Wings with a 29-22 record against the franchise, including its time as the Detroit Shock and Tulsa Shock. The Fever won their first game in Dallas last season, and carry a two-game winning streak in the series.
• Wings stars Aerial Powers and Courtney Paris are both out indefinitely with injuries. Christmas-Kelly, who was a member of the Fever’s 2012 championship team, injured her shoulder against the Mercury and is listed as questionable.
