Fever and Wings Return to Action on Saturday Afternoon
The Indiana Fever return to the court on Saturday afternoon to take on the Dallas Wings at 4 p.m. ET on CBS. Saturday’s matchup will be the first game in WNBA history to broadcast on CBS.
Dallas stole the first meeting, 76-73, between the two teams on July 31, but it came with a preview of the league’s young talent, including Fever rookie guard Julie Allemand. In only her third career WNBA game, Allemand dished out 11 assists, which tied the franchise record for most in a single game.
Allemand currently sits second in the WNBA with 5.5 assists per game. She is the only rookie averaging more than more than four assists per game.
The last time out for Indiana on Tuesday night was an 87-74 loss to Seattle. Kennedy Burke led the Fever with 17 points, while Teaira McCowan came off the bench to grab a game-high 11 rebounds.
Dallas took Las Vegas to the final horn on Tuesday, but ended up falling 96-92. Wings rookie Satou Sabally concluded the night with 28 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots.
WNBA points leader and former Notre Dame standout, Arike Ogunbowale, added 21 points vs. Las Vegas to add to her 26-game streak of scoring at least 15 points, which dates back to Aug. 10, 2019.
Expect Noblesville, Ind. native, Tyasha Harris, to play a pivotal role off the bench for the Wings. The rookie guard from South Carolina is averaging 7.0 points and 2.9 assists during her rookie campaign.
To note, Indiana was slated to play Chicago on Thursday while Dallas was to face New York, both on Thursday night. The Fever and Sky matchup will be played at 6 p.m. ET on Monday on CBS Sports Network.
