After spending the entire 2020 regular season in the ‘Wubble’ in Bradenton, Fla., the Indiana Fever open up the 2021 regular season at Barclays Center against the New York Liberty at 7 p.m. ET. This will be the first of three games matching the Fever against the Liberty, who will open up the Fever home schedule on Sunday afternoon at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The two teams will not meet again until the Liberty return to Indy on July 9 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

Heading into the 22nd year of Fever basketball, Indiana owns a 12-9 record in season opening games in franchise history, but have lost six of the last seven. The last win on opening night came at New York on May 24, 2019 when Teaira McCowan made a putback layup as time expired.

Indiana split a pair of preseason matchups last week against the Chicago Sky, taking the first contest at home, 82-65, and falling on the road, 83-70. After missing most of the 2020 season and all of 2019, Victoria Vivians led the team in scoring this preseason averaging 13.5 points in the two games. Kelsey Mitchell, the WNBA’s sixth leading scorer last season, rookie forward Chelsey Perry and Tiffany Mitchell also averaged at least 10 points per game during the preseason.

The Fever return to the court on Wednesday night at Connecticut at 7 p.m. ET. Fans across the state can tune in at FeverBasketball.com and the Indiana Fever’s Facebook page. Indiana’s next home game will be on Friday at 7 p.m. against the Atlanta Dream to begin a three-game homestand in five days.
