Fever Acquire Draft Picks in Trade with Dallas Wings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever announced today the team acquired the No. 4 and No. 6 overall picks in the 2022 WNBA Draft, as well as the 2023 first round pick from the Dallas Wings. In exchange, Indiana agreed to trade center Teaira McCowan, the 2022 No. 7 overall pick and Chicago’s 2023 first round pick to Dallas.

The Fever now own the No. 2, No. 4, No. 6 and No. 10 overall selections in the first round of this year’s draft picks. If all picks are made by Indiana, the Fever would become the first franchise in WNBA history to make four first round selections in the same WNBA draft.

“We thank Teaira for all she did with the Fever franchise in her three years with the organization and wish her the best moving forward. This was a trade offer that made sense for both teams as we head into the 2022 regular season and we are now focused on 2, 4, 6 and 10,” Interim General Manager and Senior Advisor for Basketball Operations Lin Dunn said.

“I want to thank Teaira for her contributions to our team for the past three years and wish her well in Dallas as she returns to her home state to continue her career,” Head Coach Marianne Stanley said.
