INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever announced guard Betnijah Laney was released by the team today.
Laney averaged 5.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 25.8 minutes per contest while appearing in all 34 games last season with the Fever. She started 27 games during the 2019 season.
The team also announced Stephanie Mavunga will rejoin the 12-player active roster. Mavunga had been temporarily listed as Non-Active/Non-WNBA Injury.
“Betnijah was a key member to our Fever team last season and we certainly appreciate the work she did on and off the court. We will miss having her as part of our organization,” Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Tamika Catchings said. “We welcome Stephanie back to the court and look forward to a great training camp leading into the 2020 regular season.”
The current roster is now set at 12 players.
