The longest roadtrip for the Indiana Fever this season comes to an end on Wednesday night for a Commissioner’s Cup game at the Chicago Sky. After winning the first two games of the 2021 season, Chicago has dropped the last seven games heading into Wednesday.

The Fever will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak after falling last time out on Thursday at Los Angeles.

Chicago made arguably the biggest offseason splash signing Candace Parker to a contract after a 13-year stint with the Los Angeles Sparks. The 14th leading scorer in WNBA history has played in only one game this season with Chicago while dealing with an ankle injury, but is questionable to make her home debut on Wednesday night. Parker played high school basketball at Naperville Central before a successful playing career at the University of Tennessee and with the Sparks.

Indiana and Chicago split a pair of preseason games on May 9 and May 11. Tiffany Mitchell led the Fever with 16 points in the first game for an 82-65 win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

The Sky have won seven of the last nine meetings, including both games last season at IMG Academy in the ‘Wubble’. The second meeting in Bradenton, Fla. resulted in Sky guard Courtney Vandersloot dishing out a WNBA record 18 assists in the 100-77 Chicago victory.

The Fever debut at Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Saturday for the second game against the Chicago Sky at 1 p.m. ET.

Injury Report
Fever: Tiffany Mitchell (questionable; left quadricep) Jessica Breland (questionable; non COVID-19 related illness), Betti Határ (out; right ankle), Aaliyah Wilson (out; left foot)

Sky: Candace Parker – (questionable; ankle)

Last Meeting
August 31, 2020: Although these two teams faced each other twice during preseason, their last official battle took place last year in the WNBA bubble where the Sky emerged victorious, with a final score of 100-77.

In that game, Vandersloot tallied 18 assists in the game, which set a new WNBA record for most assists in a single game. On the Fever side of things, rookie guard Julie Allemand tied the franchise record 11 assists while Teaira McCowan came off the bench with a double-double performance.
