Game Preview: Fever Travel to Minnesota for First Western Conference Road Matchup of Season
Indiana makes its first trek to visit a western conference opponent this season for a 7 p.m. ET matchup at the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday at Target Center. This will be the second of three meetings against Minnesota this year.
In the first meeting on May 10, the Fever defeated the Lynx 82-76 to earn what was the first win of the 2022 season. Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell had her first game of the year with at least 20 points, hitting four three-pointers and ending the night with 26. Indiana recorded season highs in assists (23) and steals (12) on the way to the victory in Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Both Indiana and Minnesota’s rosters have changed since then due to multiple transactions and injuries. After returning from overseas commitments, point guard Danielle Robinson has returned as a starter for Indiana. Alanna Smith and Crystal Dangerfield were also waived, leading to the Fever signing veteran forward Emma Cannon.
For Minnesota, the team has moved on from Odyssey Sims, Yvonne Turner and Rennia Davis, while also buying out the rest of Angel McCoughtry’s contract. New additions to the team since the first meeting include Evina Westbrook, Elissa Cunane and Moriah Jefferson.
