After falling in Friday night’s game against the Minnesota Lynx, 89-72, the Indiana Fever meet the Lynx again on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. Fans across the state, as well in Kentucky and Ohio, can tune in again at FeverBasketball.com and the team’s official Facebook page.
After leading by five at halftime, Minnesota used a 30-point third quarter to secure the eventual win in the first of three games this week featuring the two teams. Aerial Powers finished with her third straight 20-point scoring output. Kayla McBride added 15 points, while Sylvia Fowles ended with 13 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and four steals. Fowles became the sixth player with at least 10 points, seven rebounds, three assists, four steals and five blocks in a WNBA game.
Dating back to 2018, Minnesota has taken seven of the last eight meetings against the Fever, including the last four consecutive games.
Tiffany Mitchell led the Fever with 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting. Mitchell has now scored in double figures in 18 of the last 19 games, including the last nine consecutive games.
Jantel Lavender came off the bench to finish with 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting and nine rebounds. Her nine rebounds were the third most secured this season.
With 11 points on Friday, Kelsey Mitchell has now extended her scoring streak with at least 10 points to 19 straight games.
Indiana shot the most 3-point field goals in a game with 24 than they have all season on Friday night.
Forward Jessica Breland played only four minutes after exiting with a left thumb injury early in the first quarter. She has been ruled and will not play on Sunday.
