Fever Sign Alaina Coates

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever announced today the team signed center Alaina Coates to a training camp contract. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

ā€œAlaina is having an excellent overseas campaign in Turkey and she will bring another solid post presence to compete for a roster spot on our team.” Fever Head Coach Marianne Stanley said.

The No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 WNBA Draft last played in 2020 with the Washington Mystics. In the condensed regular season, Coates scored a career-high 11 points in a game against the Dallas Wings.

The 6-foot-4 center from South Carolina has played 75 career games, while shooting a career 54.9 field goal percentage.

In 24 games with Nesibe in Turkey this offseason, Coates is averaging 17.3 points and 14.0 rebounds per game.
