Fever Claim Kennedy Burke, Waive Asia Taylor

INDIANAPOLIS – Rookie guard Kennedy Burke, waived in training camp by the Dallas Wings, has been claimed by the Indiana Fever, it was announced today by Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman. In a corresponding move, veteran forward Asia Taylor was waived.

Burke, a versatile 6-1 combo guard who recently graduated from UCLA, averaged 10.3 points and shot 44 percent over 20.3 minutes per game in three preseason contests with the Wings. She averaged 15.4 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists for the Bruins during the 2018-19 college season before drafted 22nd overall by Dallas in the WNBA Draft last April.

Following a dramatic 81-80 win at New York on Friday, the Fever resume their 2019 schedule at Connecticut, Tuesday. Indiana welcomes the Liberty for its home opener on Saturday, June 1 (7:00 p.m.), while hosting a 20th Anniversary Celebration delivered by Papa John’s. The first 2,000 fans receive a commemorative t-shirt to celebrate the start of the club’s 20th season.
