Breast Health Awareness Week 2019 presented by St. Vincent
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Fever host their 10th annual Breast Health Awareness Game presented by St. Vincent on Saturday, Aug. 10 when the Fever host the Atlanta Dream at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Highlighting an online auction and other Breast Health Awareness (BHA) activities, Fever players will wear pink-themed uniforms and the Bankers Life Fieldhouse court will have pinked-out logos – all to raise support and awareness for breast health.
Indiana’s annual BHA Game is highlighted by the team’s pink-themed uniforms – this year charcoal gray with pink design elements, specially produced for a 10th straight season and the focal point of the online auction. The game also features a parade of breast cancer survivors during halftime.
FeverBasketball.com/breasthealth is the online site where the Fever will conduct their annual Breast Health Awareness auction, using mobile bidding platform QTEGO. Bidding on pink-themed, game-worn jerseys, pink-and-white autographed basketballs and more is conducted for 11 days from Aug. 10 and Aug. 20 when the Fever will wear the special BHA uniforms a second time to coincide with the WNBA’s Breast Health Awareness week.
The auction begins Saturday, Aug. 10 at 10:00 a.m. and ends following the third quarter of the Fever game on Aug. 20 against the New York Liberty. Funds raised by the auction benefit the St. Vincent Foundation and will be targeted to support the St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit that provides free screening mammograms to hundreds of patients from underserved populations each year.
At the game on Aug. 10, the Fever host the Dream during an entire evening dedicated to breast health awareness, fundraising for a cure and a celebration of breast cancer survivors. Tipoff is 3:00 p.m. and doors open at 2:00 p.m. Tickets begin at $13. The first 2,000 fans will receive a gray-and-pink Breast Health Awareness Game t-shirt and the St. Vincent Mammography Unit will be on display as part of the Family Fun Zone presented by Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital at St. Vincent. Interactive booths featuring St. Vincent associates and community cancer organizations will line the main concourse around Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
Before the game, the Fever will conduct a pregame Chalk Talk at 2:40 p.m., in the Lightbound Courtside Club, with Dr. Erica Giblin, St. Vincent medical director for breast care services.
During the game, there will be a parachute drop and a t-shirt toss with BHA-themed prizes.
Over the past nine seasons, Indiana Fever Breast Health Awareness auctions have raised over $215,000 for cancer patients and causes in Central Indiana. For direct donations online or further information on the auction, visit FeverBasketball.com.
