The 2025 Indiana Fever persevered through adversity to reach special heights thanks to a unique blend of resilience, toughness, and team-first attitude. Perhaps no player better embodied those qualities than Lexie Hull.

The do-everything wing played a number of different roles over the course of the season. She came off the bench for stretches, started for others. She took on the toughest defensive assignments, but also embraced bigger responsibilities on the offensive end. But no matter what role she was asked to play, Hull always played the same way: all-out, all the time.

“Every team in this league should want a Lexie Hull-type of player on their team,” Fever star Caitlin Clark said in her end-of-season exit inteview. “…She’s selfless. She’s going to go out there, she’s going to lay it all on the line for this team.”

Hull began the season coming off the bench, but moved into the starting lineup in the fourth game of the season, tallying 15 points in a narrow loss at New York in her first start. She reached double figures in six games through the end of June and recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in a win at Seattle on June 24.

Head coach Stephanie White opted to move Hull into a sixth woman role in early July, but Hull continued to give the Fever consistent effort off the bench. She returned to the starting lineup for good after both Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson suffered season-ending injuries on Aug. 7 in Phoenix.

In her first game back as a starter, Hull scored 17 points on 4-of-6 3-point shooting and also tallied three steals in a win over Chicago. A couple weeks later, she scored a career-high 23 points against Minnesota.

Playing against Seattle on Aug. 26, Hull butted heads with Gabby Williams when vying for a loose ball. The collision left Hull with not one, but two black eyes, but she didn’t miss a game. She made her typical stat sheet-stuffing contributions in Indiana’s next game (five points, five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks in a one-point win in L.A.).

While injuries derailed so many other players’ seasons, Hull was dependable and productive every night. She was one of four Fever players along with Kelsey Mitchell, Aliyah Boston, and Natasha Howard to not miss a game all season.

While she carved out a niche early in her career on the defensive end, Hull took on a larger offensive role in 2025. After a breakout 3-point shooting season in 2024 when she shot 47.1 percent from 3-point range, Hull more than doubled her 3-point attempts this season, taking 150 and still converting at a solid 36.7-percent clip. Her scoring averaged increased from 5.5 points per game to 7.2 and went up to 10.3 in the playoffs, where she reached double figures in four of eight games and recorded one double-double.

In the WNBA semifinals, a back injury cast some doubt on Hull’s availability in the middle of the series, but she played through the pain, logging 38 minutes in Game 4 and 43 minutes in Game 5 that went to overtime. Even with her body ailing, she continued to dive on the floor for loose balls and give her trademark maximum effort.

“She’s just tough,” Fever head coach Stephanie White said of Hull during the playoffs. “I mean, she’s just hard nosed. She’s just a tough kid. She’s able to play through certain levels of pain that would sideline most people. I certainly have a respect for the way that she’s able to do that and her capability of doing that. Her toughness is an example for us.”

After playing the last year on her rookie contract, Hull is set to be a restricted free agent this winter. But as Clark said, every team in the league should want a Lexie Hull on their roster.
