Fever Sign 6-7 Jennifer Hamson to 7-Day Contract

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Fever have signed 6-foot-7 center Jennifer Hamson to a 7-day contract, as announced by President and General Manager Kelly Krauskopf.

Hamson made two starts among 25 appearances with Los Angeles as a rookie in 2015, and was waived by the Sparks in 2016. She played professionally in Russia in 2015-16, then averaged 11 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.4 blocked shots per game last winter while helping Sydney to a WNBL title in Australia. She signed with WNBA Connecticut in February, but was waived in training camp.

She is regarded for being a two-sport star at Brigham Young University history. She earned West Coast Conference player of the year awards in both basketball (2014) and volleyball (2012), was a four-time All-American between the two sports and has been a part of U.S. national team programs in both sports.

The Fever, 7-9 through 16 games while approaching the midway point of the WNBA season, host their annual Kids Day afternoon game (12:00 noon) on Wednesday, July 12 against San Antonio.
