Overview: WNBA champion Jantel Lavender finally found her way back closer to her hometown in Cleveland, Ohio after signing with the Indiana Fever ahead of her 10th WNBA season. In her first year with the Fever, Lavender averaged 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 20.0 minutes per contest in 27 games, while starting 14 times. In the first game of the season at New York, Lavender reached 2,500 career points and now sits at 2,672 for her career total. Lavender also recorded her 300th assist for her career on June 1 at Seattle and also played in her 300th career game on June 15 against the Storm at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
Notable Achievements/Performances:
May 14: On top of recording her 2,500th point against the New York Liberty to tip off the season, Lavender pulled down a career-high eight offensive rebounds. Lavender and Teaira McCowan were the first pair of Fever teammates to collect at least seven offensive rebounds in the same game in franchise history.
May 16: Lavender came back the next game against the Liberty to grab a career-high 15 rebounds in the first home game of the season.
July 1: Against the Connecticut Sun at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, Lavender dished out another career-high with six assists.
September 10: Lavender came off the bench against the Minnesota Lynx to finish with a season-high 15 points on 7-of-13 shooting to go along with nine rebounds.
