Hull, Mitchell, Samuelson Named to 2024 USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team Training Camp

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (April 15, 2024) – USA Basketball announced today that 17 athletes are expected to participate in the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team training camp. The participants were selected by the USA Basketball 3×3 Women’s National Team Committee and will be considered for future USA 3×3 national team assignments.

The camp features athletes who bring a combination of USA Basketball (5-on-5, 3×3), professional and collegiate experience.

Participating athletes include Azana Baines, Cameron Brink, Cierra Burdick, Christina Dalce, Blake Dietrick, Allisha Gray, Dearica Hamby, Linnae Harper, Rhyne Howard, Lexie Hull, Kelsey Mitchell, Lucy Olsen, Katie Lou Samuelson, Madison Scott, Hailey Van Lith, Mikaylah Williams and Camille Zimmerman.

Training camp will feature 2020 Olympic 3×3 gold medalist Gray and all four members of the gold-medal-winning 2023 FIBA 3×3 Women’s World Cup Team, which includes Brink, Burdick, Harper and Van Lith.

USA Basketball will host training camp April 17-20 in Springfield, Massachusetts. The committee will evaluate participating athletes for national team opportunities including the 2024 USA 3×3 Women’s National Team, which will compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics; the 2024 USA 3×3 U23 Women’s National Team; and teams that will compete on the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series.

Camp will be run by 2024 USA 3×3 National Team head coach Jennifer Rizzotti and assistant coach Tammi Reiss.

As previously announced, USA Basketball will host the opening event of the 2024 FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series from April 23-24 at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. The USA will have two entries to the event, with athletes being selected to participate following training camp. The event marks the first time a 3×3 Women’s Series event will be hosted in the United States since the Series’ inception in 2019.

Different than 5-on-5, 3×3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams “clear” the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basket, defensive rebound or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-point field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires then the team leading wins.
