Fever Look To Avenge Last Week’s Loss to Sparks

The Indiana Fever will look to get back to .500 on Saturday afternoon in the second matchup this season with the Los Angeles Sparks at 2 p.m. ET on ESPN.

Los Angeles has won three straight and four of its last five contests heading into Saturday, including an 81-64 decision against the Washington Mystics on Thursday night. The Sparks bench outscored the Mystics 42-11 with contributions from leading scorer Riquna Williams with 13 points and rookie Te’a Cooper with 10 points.

In the first meeting on August 5, Sparks forward Candace Parker finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds. All 11 of Parker’s rebounds were on the defensive end are the most by an opposing player against the Fever this season.

In Thursday’s 86-79 Fever win against the Liberty, Fever forward Candice Dupree joined WNBA legends Lisa Leslie, Tina Thompson and Fever VP of Basketball Operations, Tamika Catchings, as the only players in league history to record at least 6,000 points and 3,000 rebounds in their career.

Dupree added 11 points, six rebounds, two blocks, one assist and one steal.
