Game Preview: Fever Make Only Regular Season Trip to Chicago for Commissioner’s Cup Matchup

Two days after the Indiana Fever welcomed the 2012 WNBA Champions to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, the Fever will meet the 2021 WNBA champion Chicago Sky at 8 p.m. ET at Chicago. The Sky will host a pregame celebration, featuring a ring ceremony and banner unveiling, to commemorate the team’s 2021 WNBA Championship as well on Tuesday.

The Fever fell on Sunday to Connecticut, 92-70. Victoria Vivians led the Fever with 15 points and went 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Vivians has now scored at least 15 points in four of the last five games played and is averaging a career-best 11.1 points per game this season.

Sunday was a historic day for the current Indiana Fever as Kelsey Mitchell surpassed 2,000 points for her WNBA career. She is the fourth leading scorer in franchise history and trails 2012 champion Briann January, who sits in third place with 2,244 points in her Fever regular season career. Mitchell entered Sunday as the second leading scorer in the WNBA averaging a career-high 19.7 points per game.

Emily Engstler started her third consecutive game for Indiana and finished with a season-high 11 points to go along with eight rebounds. Queen Egbo added nine points and eight boards as well.
