Fever Look For Season Sweep Against Mercury

BRADENTON, Fla. – After a Dallas Wings loss on Wednesday night, the Indiana Fever look to gain ground in the playoff hunt on Thursday in a 10 p.m. tip against the Phoenix Mercury, who is looking extend its current winning streak to five games.

Last time out, Mercury guard Diana Taurasi dropped 26 of her 32 points in the first half of Tuesday’s 92-85 win against Las Vegas. She finished 10-of-22 from the field and made seven of her 15 attempts made beyond the arc.

Phoenix has been without center Brittney Griner since Aug. 22 due to personal reasons. Mercury Head Coach Sandy Brondello announced on Sunday guard Bria Hartley will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

The first meeting between Indiana and Phoenix this season was a back-and-forth affair on the offensive end as the Fever outlasted Phoenix, 106-100. The 106 points scored by the Fever tied the second most points scored in a regular season game in franchise history and was the ninth time the Fever reached the 100-point plateau in a regular season game.
