The Indiana Fever travel to Atlanta on Wednesday for the start of a three-game road trip. Indiana is 4-4 through its first eight games following a 70-64 loss at home to Chicago Saturday night. Atlanta also lost on Saturday, falling 71-61 in Dallas. The Dream (1-5) have lost their last five games after winning their season opener.

Kelsey Mitchell scored a team-high 16 points on 5-of-18 shooting for the Fever in their loss to the Sky. Natalie Achonwa (15 points) and Tiffany Mitchell (10 points) also finished in double-figures. Elizabeth Williams (16 points), Tiffany Hayes (15 points) and Alex Bentley (11) points combined for 42 of the Dream’s 61 points on Saturday.

  • Indiana is .500 or better eight games into a season for the first time since 2016, the team’s last playoff appearance.
  • The Dream took three of the four meetings between the teams last season. Atlanta leads the all-time series 23-21.
  • Atlanta has its last five home games against the Fever. Indiana’s last victory in Atlanta came on Sept. 11, 2015.
  • Kelsey Mitchell scored a team-high 16 points on Saturday. She’s reached double-figures in six straight games and has scored at least 16 points in five of those contests.
  • Erica Wheeler finished with eight assists in the loss to Chicago, marking the sixth time she’s recorded at least five assists this season. Wheeler’s 6.0 assists per game rank second in the WNBA through games on June 16.
  • Natalie Achonwa (7-of-12) shot better than 57 percent from the field for the seventh game in a row. Achonwa’s shooting 60 percent on the season, tied for second-best in the WNBA among qualified players as of June 16.
  • Tiffany Mitchell scored at least 10 points off the bench for the sixth time this season. Mitchell leads all WNBA reserves in scoring at 12.9 points per game.
  • Mitchell also pulled down a season-high eight rebounds against the Sky, which led the team. She was the fifth different player to lead Indiana in rebounding in its first eight games.
  • Kennedy Burke (7-of-13) ranks first in the WNBA among qualified players in 3-point field goal percentage. Burke is shooting .538 percent from beyond the arc.
  • Six different players pulled down at least five rebounds for Indiana against Chicago, including all five starters. The Fever’s 42 rebounds were a season high.
  • A victory over Atlanta would give Indiana three road wins in its first four games away from home for the first time since 2009.
