Best Of 2018: #9 – Fever Get Historic Win: Win by 32

Who would guess that the Fever’s first victory of 2018 would come in record-breaking fashion over the same team, Atlanta, to which they lost by a dozen points two nights earlier?

But that is what transpired on June 16 when Indiana blasted the Dream, 96-64, in front of a delighted crowd at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Victoria Vivians led the Fever with 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. Fellow rookie Kelsey Mitchell had 19 points which included three 3-point baskets and five assists, in what was a glimpse into Indiana’s future.

The Fever never looked back after starting the second half on a 16-3 run that was the catalyst for a 36-point third quarter. Indiana limited Atlanta to just 16 points in the period to complete a 20-point swing following a 38-35 halftime deficit.

In total, Indiana set a new franchise record with 61 points scored in the second half. The 35-point second-half advantage (61-26) tied the second-largest second-half margin in league history.
