INDIANAPOLIS – Nicole Wesling, street outreach supervisor with Horizon House, Inc., was named the latest Anthem Assists Award winner, the Indiana Fever announced earlier today at surprise event at Horizon House.

As an 11-year staff member at Horizon House, Wesling advocates for individuals experiencing homelessness in the Indianapolis community. In recent months, she has spearheaded efforts to provide shelter and mental health resources for Hoosiers deemed high-risk for contracting the COVID-19 virus.
“Nicole’s decade-long efforts of improving the lives of so many in need in Marion County display her unyielding commitment to our community. Our city is continuing to combat homelessness and Nicole is a prime example of how we can all make a positive impact,” Fever President Dr. Allison Barber said.
In addition to coordinating the Professional Blended Street Outreach Team, Wesling has worked in conjunction with the IMPD Flex Team, INDOT and the Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention.
“I am honored to receive the Anthem Assists Award. To be recognized by the Indiana Fever and Anthem, Inc. for impactful street outreach work in our community is a highlighted achievement in my professional career,” Wesling said. “I am humbled to be considered for this nomination and to work alongside so many deserving community advocates.”
