INDIANAPOLIS – Michael Prage is the latest recipient of the Anthem Assists Award, the Indiana Fever announced today.
On April 7, 2023, Prage plans to climb Mount Everest to raise awareness and money in support for foster children. After being adopted at two years old, aiding the foster care system has always been an important cause to Prage, who has now placed himself as a true advocate for the foster child system of Indiana. Prage hopes to continue shining a light on the nearly 13,000 children in Indiana that are in the same position he once was.
Prage began climbing in 1999 while stationed in Japan. Since then, he has become a climbing enthusiast and raised more than $25,000 across several initiatives, with his sights set on one day climbing Mount Everest. Earlier this year, Prage prepared for the hike with a Mount Everest step challenge on the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in downtown Indianapolis. The challenge took him nearly 15 hours, totaling a step count of over 49,000.
