INDIANAPOLIS – Daniel and Kelley Cox were both awarded the Anthem Assists Award, the Indiana Fever announced, Tuesday evening at New Castle High School.
After the loss of their newborn son last April, Daniel and Kelley Cox created Archie’s Promise. The organization aims to support families experiencing infant loss, with fundraising efforts contributing to medical bills and funeral expenses.
“Learning about the Cox family’s tragic loss and how they have helped contribute to other families in need is inspiring and the main reason we wanted to honor these individuals throughout the state. The Cox family displays how powerful Hoosiers are when we are able to help each other through the toughest of times,” Fever President Dr. Allison Barber said.
This past December, New Castle and New Palestine High Schools teamed up during a basketball game to support Archie’s Promise.
“We are really humbled that we were nominated for this award. It means a great deal to us to help other people and also be able to hear people say Archie’s name to know that his life is continuing to live on,” Daniel and Kelley Cox said.
