Overview: One of the greatest players in WNBA history continued to guide the Indiana Fever during the 2020 season. Candice Dupree started every game in the regular season for the 13th time in her 15-year career. During the 22 games, Dupree averaged 12.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 30.2 minutes per contest as the veteran leader of the team. From the first game to the season finale, Dupree’s name continued to rise across the WNBA all-time statistical rankings.
July 25: Dupree’s first made field goal of the 2020 season against the Washington Mystics elevated her to the fifth all-time leading scorer in WNBA history. Dupree would go on to finish the season with 6,728 points and only trails Cappie Pondexter by 83 points for fourth all-time.
July 29: A season-best 23 points and nine rebounds from Dupree led the Fever in a high-scoring win against the Phoenix Mercury. Dupree made multiple 3-point field goals in a regular season game for the first time since August 28, 2009.
August 2: Dupree continued her hot start to the 2020 regular season with 21 points, five assists and three rebounds in a win against the Atlanta Dream.
September 10: Dupree led all Fever scorers for the fourth time during the 2020 season with 22 points, to go along with a season-high seven assists and six rebounds in the 85-75 win against the New York Liberty.
September 12: As the regular season was winding down, Dupree’s six rebounds against the Minnesota Lynx pushed her into sixth in WNBA history with 3,071 rebounds. She now trails only Lynx center, Sylvia Fowles; Lynx Assistant Coach, Rebekkah Brunson; Fever Vice President of Basketball Operations and General Manager, Tamika Catchings; Lisa Leslie and Tina Charles. Dupree added 12 points and three assists against Minnesota.
