Notable Performances:
July 15 vs. Phoenix: In her second start in the Fever lineup, Pondexter scored 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting in a home loss to the Mercury.
July 20 at Los Angeles: In a return to her former home court, Pondexter scored 16 points while helping Indiana to a 78-76 upset win over the Sparks. She shot 6-of-16 from the floor and registered five assists as the Fever snapped a five-game losing streak. After the Fever led by 12 through three quarters, Pondexter teamed with fellow veterans Candice Dupree and Natalie Achonwa to stave off an L.A. comeback in the final minutes.
July 22 at Las Vegas: Two days after the Fever’s upset win in L.A., Pondexter shot just 2-of-10 from the floor, but produced a season-high seven assists during a loss to the Aces.
August 19 at Chicago: The 13-year veteran saved her best half for the final half of the season as Pondexter helped fuel Indiana’s 97-92 win to finish the season in Chicago. She scored 20 of her season-high 22 points in the second half, sparking a third-quarter surge that helped Indiana overcome an early 12-point deficit and take its first lead of the contest. Pondexter scored 13 points in the period in what head coach Pokey Chatman called a “vintage Cappie” performance. She hit 3-pointers to push the Fever lead to 4, 75-71, and later 8, 83-75 in the fourth, as the Fever dominated a 29-10 second-half sequence to take command.
