Stats: Achonwa appeared in 28 regular season games (17 starts), averaging eight points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game in 17.3 minutes of action. She shot 55 percent from the field and 74.6 percent from the free throw line.

Achonwa’s career highs set during her rookie campaign occurred on June 6 against the Minnesota Lynx at home (14 points), and September 11 on the road against the Atlanta Dream (nine rebounds).

Notable Performance: Achonwa’s best overall performance of the regular season came in the September 13 home victory over the New York Liberty. She scored 13 points, connecting on all five field goal attempts and each of her three free throws, and added five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in 22 minutes played.

Achonwa’s most productive game of the postseason came in the September 17 road loss to the Chicago Sky in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, in which she tallied four points, four rebounds, and a block in 16 minutes.

Achonwa was named to the WNBA’s 2015 All-Rookie Team after starting in 17 games and leading all rookies in field goal accuracy, shooting 55 percent. The Canadian-born player competed on two Gold Medal-winning teams for her country in 2015, at the Pan American Games in Toronto and the FIBA Americas Women’s Championship in Canada. Her Canadian national team has also qualified for the 2016 Olympics.
