Fever’s Kelsey Mitchell Named to 2018 WNBA All-Rookie Team

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Fever rookie Kelsey Mitchell has been named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team, as announced today by the WNBA. Mitchell’s 12.7 points per game were second on the Fever team and third among all WNBA rookies. Her 70 3-point field goals were topped by only two rookies in league history.

The second overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, Mitchell started 17 games and played in all 34 during her rookie campaign that included at least 20 points on six occasions, the most by a Fever rookie since Tamika Catchings in 2002. Mitchell’s 70 3-pointers and her 432 points also were the best by an Indiana rookie since Catchings’ first season.

Mitchell is the third Fever player in the past four seasons to earn mention on the All-Rookie Team, joining Natalie Achonwa (2015) and Tiffany Mitchell (2016). She is the fourth Indiana player to earn All-Rookie recognition overall.
