Fever Stars Promote New Nike Shoe at Finish Line

In conjunction with the release of a new training shoe for women, two stars from the reigning WNBA Champion Indiana Fever visited with fans at the Finish Line at Circle Center Mall on Friday night. Fever point guard Briann January and WNBA Finals MVP Tamika Catchings were on hand to help promote the release of Nike�s new �Free Bionic� shoe, a women�s specific trainer.

A large crowd turned up at Finish Line, which is the marquee sponsor of the Indiana Fever. Roughly 50 young female athletes from area schools were on hand, along with their parents, and a sizeable group of Fever fanatics.

Former WNBA star and current ESPN women�s basketball analyst Rebecca Lobo emceed the event. Catchings and January talked with Lobo about their training rituals and raved about the new �Free Bionic� shoe, which they said was a comfortable trainer that female athletes could use in a wide variety of training programs. January told the young girls in attendance about her love of cross-training, while Catchings encouraged the aspiring athletes to play multiple sports.

The Fever stars also spoke about what their experience winning the WNBA Championship last fall and previewed their highly-anticipated game Saturday afternoon at Bankers Life Fieldhouse against top pick Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercury.

At the end of the event, the Fever duo took questions from the audience, helped raffle off new pairs of shoes, and posed for pictures with the local girl athletes in attendance. Both Catchings and January told FeverBasketball.com that the event was another great example of the special relationship between the Fever and Finish Line and agreed that the highlight of the night for them was getting to interact with young girls in the audience who look to them as role models.
