Erin Phillips Sidelined with Torn Meniscus

INDIANAPOLIS (May 20, 2013) Indiana Fever guard Erin Phillips has been diagnosed with a lateral meniscus tear in her right knee and will miss at least 4 to 6 weeks of the upcoming WNBA season.

A 5-8 guard and a five-year WNBA veteran from Australia, Phillips played a key part of the Fevers championship run in 2012. She averaged 6.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists during her second year with the club while filling both backcourt positions. Phillips started 9 of 10 games in last seasons playoff run, including every game of the WNBA Finals, and averaged 10.1 points per game in the playoffs.

Indiana already will begin its 2013 season without the services of guard Jeanette Pohlen and center Jessica Davenport. Pohlen continues rehabilitation after a torn ACL sustained in Game 2 of last years WNBA Finals. Davenport was diagnosed recently with a stress fracture of her left tibia.
