The Indiana Fever travels to Tulsa for the seasons final meeting with the Shock, two days before the 2013 Boost Mobile WNBA All-Star Game.

Thursdays game is the last in a stretch of four games in seven days prior to WNBA All-Star activities. Beginning with wins over the Mystics last Friday (19th) and Sunday (21st), the Fever played every other day including Tuesdays loss to New York (23rd). The WNBA All-Star Game is Saturday, July 27 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. (3:30 p.m., ABC-TV).

With a pair of three-game win streaks sandwiched around a loss to Minnesota, the Fever pulled within percentage points of third place in the East. Tuesdays loss to the Liberty dropped the Fever a half-game behind third-place Washington.

A Fever win over the Shock would be Indianas seventh in nine games, remarkable considering the streak came immediately after losing 7 of 8 to begin the season. A win would result in a series sweep of the Shock for the third straight season. A loss would send Indiana to its 10th loss in 17 games.

Three weeks ago, Indiana had slipped to 1-7 with a rash of injuries. It was the worst 8-game start in franchise history. Indiana got healthy though, with the help of a four-game homestand, but still will finish below .500 at the midway point of the season for the first time since 2002.

The Fever has had eight different players miss action through the seasons first 16 games.

Sixty-three-and-a-half (63.5) games have been lost by Fever players due to injury this season, an average of 3.97 players per game. Sixteen games have been missed by Jeanette Pohlen and Jessica Davenport; 14 have been missed by Katie Douglas; 11 were missed by Erin Phillips; three have been missed by Layshia Clarendon, two by Tamika Catchings, two by Jessica Breland and a half was missed by Briann January.

Tamika Catchings has been named the WNBAs Eastern Conference Player of the Week, marking the 19th time in her career that she has earned a player of the week award. She is tied with Seattles Lauren Jackson with the most POW awards ever. Tulsas Elizabeth Cambage earned the Wests player of the week honor.

Fever vs. Liberty: Fever vs. Liberty: Fever center Erlana Larkins pulled down a career-high 16 rebounds and guard Briann January collected a season-high 21 points, but those statistics werent enough to compensate for 33 percent shooting as New York beat Indiana 77-72 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Forward Tamika Catchings battled her way to 16 points to become only the fifth player in league history to reach 6,000 for her career. Plenette Pierson (14 points, 11 rebounds) and Kelsey Bone (11 and 11) both turned in double-doubles for the Liberty. Cappie Pondexter had a game-high 24 points.

Shock vs. Dream: Glory Johnson had 24 points and 10 rebounds and Liz Cambage added 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Tulsa Shock to a 90-63 victory over the Atlanta Dream last Sunday. The victory extended Tulsa's winning streak to a season-high three games, the team's longest winning streak since the final weeks of the 2012 season. Angel McCoughtry had 21 points for the Dream, but was only 8 of 24 from the field, misfiring on all seven of her 3-point attempts. Tulsa was 33 of 63 (52 percent) from the field, with Cambage making 8 of 10 from the floor and Johnson 9 of 14. Candace Wiggins added 14 points.

Series

Indiana owns a 24-19 series advantage over the Shock, including a 6-1 lead in games since the Detroit franchise moved to Tulsa in 2010. Since losing its first meeting with Tulsa, on the road on May 29, 2010, Indiana has won six straight with series sweeps in 2011 and 2012. The Fever is 2-1 at BOK Center in Tulsa. Its first visit to BOK Center, in fact, was the Shocks first home win in Tulsa franchise history.
